Welcome to Bolton Triathlon Club.

We are a friendly, family orientated with club which aims to help all our members enjoy swimming, cycling and running. Beginners, young and old, are catered for alongside more experienced triathletes of all standards. We have over 200 members across Bolton and surrounding areas.

What we offer. Training and Coaching.

Nine sessions a week throughout the year with guidance and encouragement from our qualified coaches. Training with others is a good way to get motivated, learn about the sport and make new friends and training partners. If you need to improve or learn front crawl, develop your bike skills or find out how to plan your training we can help. You or your child may not even know that you are good at triathlon. Our coaches will be able to spot your abilities and help you develop.  Whatever your potential we can help you achieve it.

Apart from being able to swim 100m and ride a bike, there is no qualifying standard; we welcome all abilities, shapes and sizes. We welcome all sections of the community regardless of gender, age, sexuality, nationality, religion or ethnic origin. If you have a disability we adapt our practice to include you.

Racing.

Our members participate and compete at all distances from Sprint to Ironman. Our juniors take part in children’s and youth events that are part of the Triathlon England NW series and we organise some events just for our own club members. Besides multi-sport events (triathlons, duathlons, quadrathlons, aquabikes and aquathons) many of us take part in open-water swimming, running, cross-country and cycling events. Members that race regularly are encouraged to join Triathlon England.

No Pressure.

Many of our members don’t compete in races and that’s fine by us. They just come to keep fit or do some exercise whilst their children are also training. After a while though you might catch the bug and want to do an event.

Junior Section.

We have an active junior section for ages 7 to 16 and use a variety of activities to improve skills and fitness.  We have bikes to lend at Monday night sessions if you can’t bring your own. We have Trimark Bronze  accreditation which ensures a high standard of welfare for children and young people.
